November '09 $1000 Million Dollar Body Game Success Story Winner!

Welcome to the "Me" Project

I decided to become a Beachbody Coach because I wanted to help others who saw the same struggles that I did over the years. My emotional relationship with food caused a downward spiral to an unhealthy lifestyle.

I started my journey Aug. 28 2009 after a routine checkup from the doctor turned out to be a diabetes scare. 2 years ago I lost my best friend Ursula to diabetes, and I know that she would want me to live the best life possible. After watching an infomercial I ordered Slim in 6 from Beachbody. 6 weeks later and 20lbs lighter I emerged a healthier and happier "me" with the help of my own Coach.

By sharing my challenges and triumphs, I hope to help others realize that they too can achieve their fitness and financial goals. I realized that you dont have to go at it alone...if we Decide to change, Commit to our choices, we will Succeed...together!

Stats, Progress and Goals

Afternoon Guys!

So just to catch up with my progress, Jan 4th was my official start date for P90X for the new year. On facebook their is a group of us who all started on the same date and we call ourselves "P90X Class of 2010". Search for P9O ( the zero is an "O", not a zero) X Class of 2010 to join us.

Basically, we all want to see how far we can push our fitness level by the end of 90/180/270/360 days...so this means we will be doing at least 4 rounds of P90X. To motivate myself and everyone else, I have decided to list my stats and progress thus far:

180lbs, BodyFat: 29% // Goal: 140lbs, BodyFat: 15-20%

Ive only really dropped water weight the first week. I have decided not to rely on the scale to see if I am making progress. The scale really doesnt matter, because we all know inches will drop first and muscle weighs more than fat. I am pretty confident that this will work for me. Its only been the first week and I am really sore, but I can feel a difference in how my body reacts to food.

Eating was always a problem for me in the past, and thats how I became overweight. What I failed to realize was that I was using food to deal with my "real" life problems. I didnt know the difference between hunger and thirst and it became a huge problem. For now, my eating habits are better. I make it a point to shop the perimeter of the grocery store, and I also purchase my fruits and veggies at the farmers market. Small changes really go a long way.

For now my goals are to keep going strong, and since school is starting on Monday, I will have more to balance. I really cant say that I expect to be model thin, but I want to get back to a healthier weight were I felt comfortable in my own skin. What I think is most important is the confidence you regain again from putting in all this hard work.

So for now, keep it up...I'll see you in the gym!

New Year, New Me..New Routine!

Ok Guys,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2010 is here, so that means big things for everyone. Classes will be starting for me next week, so while I have already started P90X last week, my routine will be changing to accommodate my new schedule. So that proposes a question...How do we combine our fitness life and everyday life to stay committed?

I think this is a challenge for most people because lets face it life in general gets in the way of most activities that we would enjoy. For many people exercise just isn't one of those things that is a pleasure. For me, starting Slim in 6 was a way that I learned to enjoy exercising. That is really the first step, finding out what you enjoy about fitness and why you want to make a change. For some it may be the desire to look better and feel healthier...,this is what we call finding your "Why". The reason behind wanting to make a change. So think about it, and write it down!

So you have defined your "Why" and hopefully picked a program that you seem to enjoy...now comes the hard part. The best way to stay on track with your program is to clearly write down all of your daily activities. Whether its school, work, kids, home business...knowing what your daily responsibilities are will help you to find time for exercise. The best thing about Beachbody programs are that you can workout in your home anytime...so there are no excuses!

Being consistent counts! Let others in your home know that the time you choose to exercise is important to you and should be interrupted. If you are a couple, ask your partner to join you, if you have kids, give them a space near you but far away from injury where they can watch you as you get fit. Making simple accommodations will keep you consistent and motivated to continue. So get up, get moving, make changes and commit...Ill see you in the gym!

P90X Class of 2010!

Ok Ladies and Gents!

My first project in 2010 will be P90X. As you saw above, I started my journey first with Slim in 6...but now its time for something a little bit more challenging! Check it out...if you dont know what I mean:

On Facebook, I am part of a group that will begin P90X on Jan. 1st. ( although some of us started this past Monday). Since I am qualified to compete in Team Beachbody's Finale $25,000 contest, its important that I try to get my body in the best shape possible before the Jan. 31st deadline. So this is really a nice little motivator for the new year. Even if I dont place or win, I will have started 2010 with a bang, and a head start for summer :)
